Linkin Park - Somewhere I Belong
They may have been away a while, but that's obviously not dampened any of Linkin Park's fire.
The first single from the band's long-awaited, forth-coming album, 'Somewhere I Belong' looks like it could see the US rockers reclaim their 'biggest metal band in the world' tag with ease.
Not deviating too far from their well-established sound, it's another bruising mix of technology and riff-heavy crash bang wallop that'll easily please the band's army of existing fans whilst at the same time converting many more to the Linkin Park metal cause.
Both formats also add exclusive bonus tracks.

NERD - Provider/Lapdancer
Having provided beats for just about everyone who's anyone in hip-hop, r'n'b and pop circles these days, production wizz kids The Neptunes have taken time and recorded some of their own stuff under their very own N*E*R*D moniker. A double A-side from their 're-recorded' album, 'In Search Of', both 'Provider' and 'Lapdance' are brilliant slabs of future funk in their own right, whilst the remixes, from Zero 7 and Freeform 5, add different flavours for a host of musical palettes. The DVD CD also adds live video footage from London alongside the XXX vid for the 'Lapdance' single.

Mis-teeq - Scandalous
If this is typical of what Mis-teeq's forthcoming album, 'Eye Candy', has to offer, then we're in for a real treat! Mixing infectious pop and sassy r'n'b in the Mis-teeq girls' own inimitable style, 'Scandalous' is a raw, sexy, hook heavy return from a trio that, on the evidence of this anyway, are all set to create havoc on urban floors.
Whilst the wealth of remixes on offer add extra flavours for a whole host of dancefloors and deejays. A top-notch return!

Blue - You Make Me Wanna
Blue have been unstoppable over the last year or so; and fresh from a brilliant Brits performance (and win, for Best Pop Act) the foursome keep the momentum rolling along nicely with their brilliant new single, 'U Make Me Wanna'.
A silky smooth, pop-tinted r'n'b groover (in the lads' familiar style) with production from StarGate, it also comes with bonus tracks/mixes with a DVD format adding the video, photo galleries and live footage.

Simply Red - Sunrise
It's been a while, but Simply Red return this week with the first single from their long-awaited forthcoming album, 'Home'.
A definite return to form, 'Sunrise' is also proof positive that Mick Hucknall hasn't lost any of his vocal flair whilst at the same time serving as a perfect reminder of why the band have remained at the top of the pop game for the best part of fifteen years.
Featuring a well used Hall & Oates sample (from 'I Can't Go For That') around an infectious, uplifting backing and Hucknall's soulful vocals; the catchy original also comes with a whole host of bonus tracks and remixes.

The Burn
Having emerged off the back of some electrifying support slots with the likes of Oasis, Ian Brown and Paul Weller, northern outfit The Burn have very quickly built a sound and solid musical reputation that's entirely their own. The new single, 'Drunken Fool' (from their forthcoming debut album) could be the one that sees the band's rough-around-the-edges rock sound get the wider attention it entirely deserves. Whilst both formats add bonus songs with the CD including the excellent video.

MJ Cole - Windering Why
The second single from MJ Cole's eagerly awaited second album, 'Wondering Why' picks up the baton where the likes of 'Crazy love' and 'Sincere' left off.
A lushly textured, heavily musical return (in MJ's signature style), with a superb, sugar-sweet vocal from newcomer Vula, this is an outstanding return and one, thanks to a whole host of contrasting remixes, that should find itself doing the do on a wide range of dancefloors.
New mixes across all formats come from Influx
Datum, Recloose and M-Gee.

Phil Collins - Least You Can Do
Phil Collins returns this week with not one, but TWO, of the standout tracks from his excellent new album.
With both songs produced by Rob Cavallo (who previously worked with Phil on the award-winning Tarzan soundtrack), 'The Least You Can Do' and 'Wake Up Call' are two superb new tracks from one of the UK's most consistent, not-to-mention talented, song-writers, singers and musicians.

D4 - Ladies Man
After a storming run through 2002, Kiwi rockers The D4 strap on their heels and keep the momentum rolling along as they stomp their way back into 2003.
The latest single from their excellent debut album, 'Ladies Man' is another wild slab of hip-shaking rock'n'roll from one of the most exciting new bands out there.
Whilst each format also comes chock-a-block with completely exclusive bonus tracks.

Saint Etienne - Soft Like Me
The second single from Saint Etienne's recent album, 'Soft Like Me' is also widely hailed as one of its best.
Leaning more towards the band's pop sensibilities, but adding a mellow, almost hip-hop infused flavour (it features an appearance from London based female MC Wallflower), this is a cracking return from a band that always seem to develop with the times yet still retain their own unmistakable sound.
Also, the bonus tracks/remixes on offer across all formats are a definite must for bothfans and newcomers alike.

Stereopol - Dancin Tonight
Get out your seventies togs, unbutton your shirt and dig out the platforms because the Ministry Of Sound's Rulin' imprint are heading back to the disco-era for their latest slab of infectious party house.
Returning to grass roots with a sexy, soulful, street smart strut, 'Dancin' Tonight' is an irresistible little groover with a soaring vocal that proves, once again, that keeping it simple is always best.
Whilst the Love II Infinity mixes beef things up and deepen the groove for a slightly tougher dancefloor experience.

Un-cut - Midnight
If you've not heard of them yet, then remember the name, because on the evidence of this, Un-cut's debut single, we're gonna be hearing a lot more from this trio over the coming year or so. Already being described as the finest vocal drum & bass cut since Goldie's seminal 'Inner City Life', 'Midnight' marries a simple but completely captivating soundtrack influenced d'n'b backing to a stunning vocal from newcomer Jenna G to create a future scene classic.
Whilst the remixes add different vibes for a host of different tastes.

Already drawing comparisons to the likes of Christina Aguilera, J-Lo and Shakira, singer-songwriter Rachel White is looking like she could have a bumper year in 2003 - and her contagious debut single, 'Cinderella's Playing Out', is a perfect way to kick things off! Mixing irresistible pop sass with real melodies and an obvious talent for songwriting, on the evidence of her debut single, this talented UK singer could have a very big future indeed.
