Everyone's a fan; fans of films, fans of art, fans of some dodgy local football team who never make it past the Sunday league.
But there are some new fans coming your way this winter: Fans Of Kate. Releasing their self titled debut EP in November through Headwrecker Records the band have a fresh punky vigour and a certain apocalyptic fervour that pulls an honest and direct punch into the current musical ether.
The EP will be a strictly limited to 1500 copies and hand numbered by the band.
From the frantic opener of 'Tape 23' with its rousing melody, the EP hurtles into 'A Pattern', a song to melt the hardest of indie hearts and on into the already live favourite 'Keep Warm.'
This band know how to craft songs at full tilt that will tug at your 'strings' whilst keeping a hand firmly placed on your balls.
Fans Of Kate have been together for just under a year and were brought together by a common need to make music which matters, heart and soul. Based now in various part of London town the line up is:
Jez Dixon - Keys, Lead Vocals
Steve Hurdle - Guitar, Backing Vocals
Jamie Brown - Guitar, Drum Machine, Effects
Raphael Knapp - Bass
Nick Eburah - Drums
The band toured extensively through November, and are planning more live dates for 2005. www.fansofkate.com
