Ashlee Simpson - Pieces Of Me review

20/09/2004

At such a young age, 19 years old Ashlee Simpson has achieved a great deal. She's already stared in the US TV series 'Seventh Heaven' and now has her own MTV reality show 'Ahslee'. It follows her through the whole recording process and has already been very well received.

And if all of this isn't enough, she's now about to take the world of Pop by storm.

Autobiography is heavily influenced by Ashlee's favourite bands - Blondie and Steve Nicks. The sounds of soft rock reflect this.

Each song on the album was co-written by Ashlee - check out the title of the album. And this personal element can also certainly be heard in 'Pieces of me' which focuses around a best friend who brings love and friendship.

The simple, yet effective stringy guitar rifs make this a very easy listening ballard. The catchy chorus bringing the song to life.

It's great if you want to shout at the top of your voice and sing your heart out.

Ashlee has her own sound. And she's certainly made her mark to date. Move over Jessica, your rock chick sis is moving in.
