Album release date: 19th July 2004
The last member of All Saints to go solo (I'm counting the Appletons as a single entity) has come up trumps with a classy record full of pop/soul magnificence. Opening with the funky 'Dance' through the lovely first single 'Never Felt Like This Before', reggae-tinged 'Mr Dawg' and horn infused 'Heart Made Me A Fool', 'Open' is an eclectic mix of styles that showcases Lewis' unique talent and stunning vocal delivery. Elsewhere the sublime 'You', 70s influenced 'Don%u2019t Know What To Say' and cool-as-hell 'Nasty Boy' are further highlights on an album that serves up treat after treat.
Shaznay Lewis has produced an album that stands up against the best of All Saints output, and when you're talking one of the best girl-groups ever, that's high praise indeed.
