Gallagher's japan show raises £150,000

The rocker helped put together the gig in aid of the Red Cross to help those affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and he took the stage with his band Beady Eye for the concert at London's Brixton Academy on Sunday (03Apr11).

Primal Scream, Paul Weller, Graham Coxon, Richard Ashcroft and The Coral also performed for fans.

Weller treated the audience to several of The Jam's greatest hits and told them, "Thanks for coming tonight and helping our brothers and sisters in Japan."

The rocker then introduced a surprise guest to the stage - he performed Beatles classic Come Together with Welsh singer Kelly Jones, according to NME.com.

The Stereophonics frontman also played a short acoustic set before Primal Scream performed several of their hits with Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock.

Beady Eye was the final act of the evening, playing tracks from their debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding, with Gallagher dedicating Kill For A Dream to "all the people in Japan".

More than 30,000 people are feared dead following the devastating tremor and subsequent tidal wave which hit Japan's east coast last month (Mar11).
