Like most modern cars the Insignia is fitted with an electric power steering system. In general this is fine, but it can feel artificial and there's also a weird self-centring action when coming out of corners. Handling is safe rather than exciting, but the Insignia is an excellent motorway mile-muncher and sure to attract company buyers. Twin exhaust pipes mean that our Insignia SRi was powered by the impressively swift 220PS 2.0 Turbo engine. The 0-60mph dash is covered in 7.6 seconds and the top speed is a licence- losing 147mph. Engine refinement is generally fine, but the odd spot of torque steer could catch out the unwary.
