The 1.33 version weighs 175lb more than before and you feel the weight the most in the handling which is more ponderous. Considering this, body roll is kept well under control and the steering is accurate. The six-speed manual gearbox has a light, positive change (a push-and-go CVT automatic is available as an option). Another feature of the 1.33 engine is the stop/start system that's fitted as standard. It's not the best version i've tried as I sometimes wondered whether the car would actually re-start, but it helps with the fuel consumption around town. Overall the iQ 1.33 feels more grown up than other city cars, and more able to cope with motorway work and trips out of town.
