Verdict: Like its big brother the Vauxhall Insignia (pictured), the Cruze is a big step forward in terms of build quality and style. Where the package falls down is the 1.8-litre petrol engines lack of performance and refinement. However, the Cruze is still worth a look if you're after a stylish, high-value alternative to a Skoda, Hyundai and Kia.
