The ride and handling are tuned to be comfortable rather than sporty, but the 3008 has excellent body control, plenty of grip in corners and despite the tall body the handling still feels surprisingly sharp. The 148bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine is similar to the one fitted in the MINI Cooper S and despite the fact that the 3008 is bigger and taller it has plenty of mid-range power and revs smoothly right to the red-line. In fact, the only thing that lets down this package is the over-light steering.
