This limited build M3 was the first BMW to carry the charismatic CSL (Coupe Sport, Lightweight) badge since the 70s. Fewer than 1,400 of the CSL were produced between June and December 2003.
The M3 CSL has more power (360bhp), less weight (carbon fibre roof, composite bumpers and a bootlid made of plastic) and sharper handling. On the outside, you can identify the CSL versions by the revised front bumper/spoiler, with its large circular cut-out to ram air into a special carbon fibre airbox.
