First shown at the Paris Motorshow in 1975, the Pinifarina styled 308 was made famous by its appearance in the television show Magnum P.I. , the 308 GTB was introduced in 1977. Mechanically similar to the 308 GT4, performance is excellent, with the race-style dry sumped 3.0-litre V8 produces 255bhp. One notable aspect of early models is that the first 712 had body’s made of fibreglass, this lasted till June 1977 when the bodywork was switched to steel.The light-weight early models are the most sought after.
