Is this the world's most powerful diesel off-roader? VW specialists company Abt are in no doubt.
If a V10 version of Volkswagen's meaty Touareg doesn't have enough grunt for you then German company Abt think they have the answer.
The company has opened the UK order book for its all-new Abt Touareg VS10 - claimed to be the world's most powerful diesel 4x4 road car. It's based on Volkswagen's diesel-powered Touareg V10 but with a few important modifications.
Some wizardry under the bonnet means a significant uplift in power - that's 373bhp compared to the standard Touareg V10's 303bhp, plus a new bodykit and revised suspension system to serve up a more sporting drive.
And complementing the boost in horsepower is a major increase in torque - up from the standard 553 lb/ft to an awesome 634 lb/ft at just 2,000rpm! More than enough to blow away any Mercedes or Range Rover rival.
For example, the BMW X5 4.6is has 347bhp, the Mercedes ML55 AMG 347bhp and even the Porsche Cayenne S with 340bhp.
