Step-by-step guide to flawless skin
Finding the right foundation for you
The key to beautiful skin is finding a foundation which matches your skin tone exactly. This means you will be able to simply even out the skin tone where necessary rather than applying full coverage. To find the right foundation for you, apply to the side of the face, the one which blends into the skin seamlessly is the one to go for. Tip: if it looks a little yellow it's too dark and if it looks a little ashy or grey it's too pale for you. The right foundation will melt into your skin.Under eye area
Before applying foundation it's important to brighten and freshen the under eye area. Using a creamy concealer, gently press into the skin. This will melt the product making appear like real skin and the under eye area appear fresh, bright and even. Tip: remember to take the concealer right up to the lower eyelashes to cover up any redness or pink which can make the eye look tired. Once the concealer is on you can then determine how much foundation you need to apply. Often, having brightened the under eye area, less foundation is required.Applying the foundation
A stick foundation is a good choice as it lasts a long time and makes it easy to target certain areas of the face.Smooth on with your fingers or a foundation brush. A brush is good for giving a very sheer, natural finish to the skin and won't look like heavy foundation.
Use the stick to even out areas, paying particular attention to the central panel of the face where most women get a little pink or redness showing through.
Gently smooth out the foundation over the skin until it looks even and natural.
Applying powder
The next step is to finish off the skin with a little powder. This will help to set the make-up and keep it on all day, giving your skin a velvety, fresh look.Use a powder puff and gently press into the skin to help the make-up stay on longer. If you want a more sheer coverage with your powder you can apply with a powder brush. Seal the concealer in the same way.
...and that's the secret to flawless skin.
