The right brushes are just as important as the make-up. Find out which ones to buy and how to use them with our video guide below.
Step-by-step guide to make-up brushes
Foundation brushThe brush fits the contours of the face. It's a thin brush which means it's easy to apply to awkward areas of the face which might need more coverage such as round the nose.
Blush brush
The best are the hand-cut brushes which are shaped to fan out as they meet the cheek and taper away as you get to the hair line.
Eye shadow brush
The longer the hair the sheerer the colour. If you want more intensity the short haired brush is essential.
Brow brush
This has a bristle end so it picks up and distributes the colur whilst grooming and shaping the natural shape of the brow.
Eyeliner brush
This brush is angled and rounded so you can use it wet or dry and pick up enough colour to create a perfect or smudged line depending on the desired effect.
Lip brush
This gives even coverage and smooths out any imperfections on the lip.
