There's one look that's never gone out of fashion - the Audrey Hepburn black eye-liner and red lips.
Step-by-step guide to red lips
Start with very neutral make up - you don't want much more colour than the lips. Keep the eye shadow very fresh, neutral and creamy with a dark eye liner and mascara.Keep the cheeks soft and pink so they look like they have a natural flush.
Step 1
Make sure the lips are well moisturised first.
Look at your skin tone. If you have an olive skin tone a burnt red could work well for you because it has warmer tones. If you have porcelain skin a blue/red would look good because you a little pink in your skin.
It's important to spend longer on you lips when you're wearing red as, if you have any imperfections, they'll show up because red is such a bright colour.
Step 2
- Follow the natural shape of the lip, making sure that the red doesn't go outside of the lip line.
- Make sure you fill in the lip from corner to corner as this will show up if you don't.
- Every part of the lip you can see needs to be fully coated with the lipstick.
- If you're going to use a lipliner use it after the lipstick.
- When using red you should always use a lip liner to perfect the line.
By edging around the lip you will get the perfect line and still blend into the lipstick.
The beautiful classic red lip look.
