Cleansing is the one skin care routine that most of us don’t pay enough attention to but should and going to bed with our make-up on is the number one sin in skincare.
When it’s done properly, cleansing not only wipes away the dirt and make-up, it can wipe away the years.
Use your cleanser as the basis for a good facial massage – use a cleansing milk, lotion or better still, a balm. It will work wonders on your complexion. Take a few minutes to warm a natural skin care balm in the palm of your hands and massage it into face, neck and chest (décolleté) area. Use upward circular movements starting from your chin and working up and over your entire face, taking special care when you get to your eyes as the skin here is very delicate. Do the same on your neck and décolleté and then wash the balm away with a warm cleansing cloth.
Your face will be left super-clean and positively glowing with radiance – it’s a sure fire way to get that youthful glow back to your cheeks.

When it comes to fighting the signs of ageing, it’s not just the wrinkles we should be battling against. Brighter, even complexions can help us roll back the years too and one great way to do this is with gentle exfoliation – and the key word here is gentle as too much, too often and too strong can cause more damage.
Exfoliation is important because as we get older the rate at which healthy, new skin cells renew themselves slows down (as do most things!). To encourage cell renewal and speed up the sloughing process help is at hand in the form of natural exfoliators
When it comes to your face you really must look for gentle exfoliators – things like ground up hard shells from nuts like walnuts should be left for your body – they are way too harsh for the delicate skin on our faces. Products that contain Jojoba peeling grains are ideal – as they are gentle and evenly shaped so they won’t scratch your skin. Also look out for natural fruit extracts and acids (often referred to as AHAs which stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acids) as these are a natural peeling agent that will brighten you complexion as they speed up cell renewal. Scrub Up is a natural exfoliator that is gentle and effective that contains all these ingredients to keep your skin looking bright.

Keeping hydrated is key – it’s well documented that we should all be drinking plenty of water every day – and no, that doesn’t include the water that goes into your tea and coffee. Water works in so many ways in keeping us healthy. When it comes to skincare, water can flush out toxins, helping to keep our skin clear. But it’s not just about the water we drink – we can keep our skin hydrated by using moisturizing creams, lotions, serums & oils.
These products help prevent water loss and keep moisture in our skin. There are lots of ingredients that are naturally moisturizing but one that has recently been hitting the headlines more than most – Hyaluronic Acid. It is probably one of the best natural moisturizing agents and, like a sponge, it can hold up to a thousand times its own weight in water.
So it really helps keep the moisture in our skin; plumping it up skin, keeping it smooth and diminishing the look of fine lines. Look out for products like Perfect Pores Serum and Thirsty Work daily moisturiser that contain this amazing natural ingredient.
