Keeping your smile gleaming should be as much a part of your beauty routine as having your hair done. You can spend as much as you like on looking the part but if your smile lets you down it’s all for nothing.
Many of us never get round to visiting a hygienist, mainly because you have to be referred by a dentist. Until Smilepod popped up.
Smilepod is a walk-in hygienists and the little beamers behind it are clever. The hygienists here are all qualified dentists which means you can simply walk in and see a hygienist there and then with no referral required.
The clinic is based in a pretty shop just off Long Acre in Covent Garden. The environment is more ‘beautician’ than dentist with contemporary décor and friendly staff.
The list of treatments range from a quick 15 minute “Smile on the run” (which is a straight-forward clean and polish) to a 60 minute teeth whitening treatment.
Smilepod means you can maintain good oral health or add an extra gleam to your smile all in your lunch hour.
I went for the ultra-bling-sounding High Gloss Diamond Polish and lay back whilst Alice wielded all manner of squirty things firing water, air and brimstone at my teeth. The stain remover comes as close I hope I’ll ever get to someone opening a can of salty orange fanta straight into my mouth... And after that little lot Alice brings out the Diamond Polish to buff up my teeth to a perfect gleam.
It all takes about half an hour, it's pain-free and afterwards my teeth feel fantastic - smooth, clean and shining bright.
