Step Four - Fixing
Before applying your adhesive, make sure your surface is clean. On kitchen tiling there's likely to be a line of waterproof sealant along the bottom to protect from water damage. If so, scrape it gently off.
Cover your wall area with adhesive to a depth of around 3mm, applying not more than one metre square at a time. Place your first tile in the spot you have chosen - in our case along the bottom edge of the bench or, where you're using wooden angle guides on the wall, in the corner of the battens.
Use plastic separators, available in any DIY store, to allow for grouting and keep the separation standard.
