Never underestimate the BHS offering – some great designer ‘look a likes’ here, and particularly strong on mirrored glass pieces. Look out for bargain basement sale items.

Check out this woman’s work before her designer lights cost designer prices. Exquisite paper cut out lampshades, which make equally beautiful shadow patterns on the walls, starting from around £50. Absolutely unique.
Wow Lighting
If you like contemporary, this is the place to go. My favourite has to be Big Bang, a Perspex explosion currently hanging in my kitchen. About 20% cheaper online than the equivalent would cost in the shops, and some pieces you just won’t find elsewhere.

Huge range of decorative candle bulbs, energy saver bulbs, halogens and just about every other bulb under the sun, and cheaper than anywhere else I have found. Very efficient delivery.
Crystal Corner
A Surrey based Aladdin’s cave of chandeliers, lovingly sourced by expert Karen Matthews. Reproduction and antique, prices are very reasonable considering the quality on offer, and start from under £100.
Hiccup Gifts
A small but funky selection of chandeliers and great value. I particularly liked the multi-coloured Gypsy Pendant Chandelier, from £34.99, and the Mushroom Night Light Lamps from £11.99.
