Making your entrance and outside area will really welcome guests and eventually when you sell your house will add that all important curb appeal.

Improve your curb appeal
Start with your front door, make sure it’s neatly decorated and clean, peeling paint and mud splatters aren’t really attractive. Make sure all door handles, letter boxes, numbers etc are in the same material – ie all brass or brushed nickel etc – that they are on straight and not half hanging down. House names should be clearly visible and to one side, perhaps put bell, chime etc on other side – keep things simple but symmetrical. A light above or next to a door will help when fumbling in dark for keys and also security but will make entrance attractive. Plants either side add a touch of elegance and will add to appeal but this isn’t always possible.

Tidy entrance hall
Make sure entrance hall is tidy and clutter free as possible, get storage built in MDF to hide away shoes, coats, umbrellas and the plethora of things that always seem to clog up by the door. The entrance and hall are the first impression of your home, so make sure it’s a good one!
