We can only provide support for a limited number of routers. A router enables you to share your broadband connection simultaneously between computers and devices in your home. To find out what routers we support, please see: Supported Devices.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with assistance or support while you are setting up an unsupported router or troubleshooting any issues with one - apart from providing you with the settings listed below.
When you set up your router, you will be prompted to enter certain details. Depending on the router you have, the method for entering these details will differ. In some cases the options are named differently, so if you have any have problems please refer to the documentation included with your router or contact the manufacturer of the router.
Note: Some early models of Netgear router (including the DG834 v1 and v2) are not compatible with TalkTalk and may display an error message, even when the correct details are entered.
To access the web-based configuration page for your router, you need to enter the IP address for the router into the address bar of your web browser, for example Internet Explorer or Firefox. This IP address is supplied with the router. Here is an example of where to put the IP address:
The following table displays the main router manufacturers, the IP address for their web-based configuration page and the username and password you need to access that page (if login details are required).
Note: These details may not be correct for all models of the router type. This is just a guide. For further help, please contact the router manufacturer. To visit the manufacturer's website just click the name of the manufacturer you wish to visit.
