You'll be falling over yourself to get hold of this
Getting a handle on Fallout 3 is like trying to catch a greasy pig in a rainstorm. Every time you think you're getting a grip the cheeky porker changes direction and you're back to square one - playing catch-up. So, is it a shooter? Yep, you betcha - with more possible targeting systems than a Terminator T1000 and more weapon variables than Uncle Sam - we can safely assume that it ticks that particular box. So, it's not an RPG then? You have to be kidding me. There are more choices in this game than life itself. Nearly all the characters you meet will engage you in conversation. Just like real life, how you choose for that dialogue to go is often down to you. Find out useful titbits about the radiated lands you inhabit, partake in quests or just be plain rude - the choice is very much yours. Well at least I don't have to do that much thinking, right? Oh, stop it. With an inventory that can hold literally hundreds of items and a gameworld where you can rummage through pretty much everything you see you'll need all your wits about you to make sense of all the sub plots that abound. Combine a slick inventory interface with more upgradeable stats than the NSO and you'll quickly find that this title puts the 'custom' in customisation. Rarely has it been hard to summarise a game - but typically Fallout 3 gleefully breaks that mould too. Think of it as the hybrid offspring of BioShock and Oblivion getting it on in a darkened developer's studio, and you wouldn't be far off. If you want a game that satisfies a hearty blood lust, flexes your IQ until it squeezes out another point or two, whilst all around you a beautifully woven story unfolds like a cinematic epic - then step this way, we're surprised it took you this long.
