Courtney Love set to sue Activision over late husband's appearance in Guitar Hero 5 plus Order of War PC screens
Music videogames are once again hitting the headlines with the latest news that Courtney Love, widow of Nirvana front-man Kurt Cobain, is intending to sue games publisher Activision over the appearance of her dead husband in the forthcoming Guitar Hero 5.
Posting on her Twitter account, Love expressed her anger over Activision's decision to include Cobain in the latest GH instalment declaring it to be an "outrageous violation and breach of contact".
In an expletive filled rant she added: "I have nothing to do with Guitar Hero I loathe it and find it odious, Kurt would have too."
Activision has yet to offer any official comment - although we reckon an explosive and expensive legal battle could well be on the cards.
Meanwhile, we've got some exclusive hot off the press screen shots from Order of War, a game that veteran Japanese publisher Square Enix thinks is set to be the most accessible and explosive strategy title on the market.
Components such as base building and resource gathering have been stripped away to create a WWII game that focuses on non-stop action featuring massive scale battles. With missions based on key historic events and operations from 1944, players take command of an entire army including ground troops, artillery, tank divisions and aircraft in all out strategic assaults. A PC-exclusive release is set for September 18.
