Football series all set to right the wrongs of the last instalment plus Halo 3 expansion details revealed and PES 2009 Wii screens
Fans of the Pro Evolution Soccer football games should put aside any fears of the online play being as bad as the last version - that's the message from Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka in an article reported by industry paper MCV. In the interview the legendary developer claims that online play is now the top priority for PES 2009 - due for release next Friday. Seabass admitted: "I do acknowledge that last year we placed such emphasis on the controls that the online side was sacrificed. For instance if you didn't have a very good connection, that could really seriously affect your gameplay and it could turn out to be very horrible indeed." He added: "This year we looked at online as a top priority and we tested half way around the world, so that even for people who don't have good connections we wanted to pursue how we can make the game still playable. We found a solution as well as taking on more players, four this time, for multiplayer online. We're not going to stop, until we're fully satisfied with this online version of PES 2009, we want to go even further. So I promise you it will still continue to change and improve further as we go along." Meanwhile, Bungie.net's community lead Brian Jarrard spoke to journalists at the Tokyo Game Show with a few more details of the freshly announced Halo 3 stand-alone expansion, due next year. He commented: "Halo 3: Recon is our answer back to our fans. This is a game we felt like we needed to do. Our fans want more Halo 3 content and they want to do more in the Halo universe, and this is really our way to continue to support the Halo 3 fan base and given them something a little bit different than what they were expecting." He added: "In a nutshell, Halo 3 Recon is essentially an expansion, but it is also a standalone retail product. It will be sold in a box available next fall and will include hours of new campaign content, and an experience from an all new perspective. You will be playing the role of an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, and the Master Chief will not be featured in this game in any way." Finally, we round off the week with a bit more news on PES 2009. This time we've got some brand new Wii screens to take a look at. The Wii version isn't out until 2009 - boasting a motion sensor controls system which should bring a totally different level of gameplay to the title.
