Top spot for PS3 racer, retro Commodore book hits the virtual shelves and Ninja Gaiden 2 Xbox 360 screens
For the second week in a row, the brand new Gran Turismo Prologue has topped the all-format UK videogames charts, taking a hefty 39 per cent of all PS3 software sales for the week! Sony's next-gen racer has continued to dominate in the face of stiff competition. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 has abseiled further down the charts landing in third position. The irrepressible Mario and Sonic have once more made progress up the chart. This week we find them at number two thanks to the success of the recently released DS version. From modern-day charts to the hallowed memories of classics from yesteryear. The Commodore 64 Book 1982-199x By Andrew Fisher is now available from http://c64goldenyears.com . We don't normally recommend books, but beneath the rather clunky title lies the throbbing hearts of a cracking games compendium. There's over 200 games listed, each with a dedicated page of info including all manner of trivia such as the Zzap 64 review score of the time, a load of screens, packshots and even the nitty gritty of what the development team had for lunch that day. Well, almost. The only stumbling block is the rather hefty 17.99 GBP price tag. But considering the quality of the content (including a page foreword by legendary Jeff Minter) us oldies certainly think it's a price worth paying. From the old school to the newest of the new and a heap of brand new Ninja Gaiden 2 screenshots, forthcoming exclusively on the Xbox 360. Little is known about the follow-up to Tecmo's ninja action adventure game, except it's supposed to be out in June - so we won't have too long to wait to find out for ourselves.
