Netropolis Players Guide - Language

Netropolis

What does it all mean?

Netropolis can be confusing for new player, so check out the meanings of all those difficult words below.

Alliance - A group of players coming together and hopefully becoming organised in the way they play.

Cyber - Cyber Cafe.
Db/ D-bomb - This is the Destruction bomb which is available to you once you are at level 3. One of the most common bombs used - and if it gets used on lots of your props (see below) you wont want to waste time typing "destruction"! You will hear people talking about being db'd or d - bombed.
Dogs or Doggies - Short for Guard Dogs - a type of security.
Ele HSS - Short for Electronics HSS (see below). e.g. "Change that prop for an ele hss or else".
Fash HSS - Same as above, but in this case it's a Fashion HSS.

Fires - Tends to be used to mean Fire Bomb. e.g. "Some idiot has been chucking fires all over the map".
Fire Spread - Where a building catches fire from another building. Can cause whole maps to go up in flames.
Fire Strike/Fireworks - The fireservice is less effective and fire spreads considerably faster.
Force Hero - Basically when the owner of a company has had a particular company hero a location because someone else has made them go over the cash criteria by sending that company cash or by cto-ing their props. Tends to make the owner of the company very annoyed - especially if they had a lot of land in the company.
Free Land - Land which hasn't been built on. Usually green if you are zoomed in. Black if zoomed out. e.g. "Help me grab the free land asap!".
Guards - Security Guards - another form of security.
Heights - The top location in Netro. Only accessible once you have heroed a cap.
Hero - This is when you effectivly 'win' in a location ie you reach the set criteria for that level (view the guide to hero levels).
HQ - Head Quaters.

Mushie/Mushroom - A building which has been destroyed with a destruction bomb.
Netro - The game we all love and hate - Netropolis. Far too long to type though.
Newbie/ newb- A very widely used term, with a variety of meanings. In general however, it means someone who has either played for less time than you, or someone that you consider to be worse at netro than you. e.g. "You can easily beat him - he's a newbie".
One Town Wonder - Name often given to players that have heroed one town, and enter a city and try and bomb their way in. Often used in conversation between city land holders, e.g: "Just having a little trubble with a persistant One Town Wonder"

Shadow Bombing/ shadowing - If you shadow bomb someone then you are bombing them with a company that cannot be identfied to you. As a result they have no idea who to bomb back. Tends to get people quite annoyed. e.g. "some idiot is shadowing me".
Stalls - Market stalls - if you build these then your just cheap :-)
Stands - Not very common but is said meaning hotdog stands.
