I need to change a hinge on a kitchen cabinet door of uncertain provenance (in that it's around 10 years old and I've only lived in the house for the past 4). I've experienced the frustration of trying to properly adjust such hinges several times in my life but I've never had one produce such an annoying click before; I think the anti-slam spring has failed. Are these hinges made to any sort of one-size-fits-all standard or do they all have slightly different dimensins depending on who makes them? If they are not reasonably interchangeable, where do I go to have the best chance of finding one that will replace mine without looking too out of place? I would ask Ron for one out of his recently replaced kitchen but I suspect his old ones have all gone to the great kitchen in the sky

These come in packs of two and range from £2 00 to £4 50 a pair.
If you have a local store best to take a sample with you so that you can get the same size that you need. Hope that helps Dolphin |

In all probability it will be the 35mm that you will need as that is the Hole Size in the kitchen Cabinet door also they have different metal finishes and different metal thickneses.
And different hinge styles. |

I would have given them to you gladly but the sods who constructed the units used non-returning screws, ie the kind of screws you use when you don't expect ever to want to unscrew them. Again. You drive the screw home and the head grooves shear off. A good idea for security reasons. But on a kitchen unit? Absolutely mad! And the units looked hideous, too. Best regards, Ron.
