X Factor winners return

13/12/2009 23:35

The cream of The X Factor returned to its stage tonight - with Alexandra Burke, JLS and Leona Lewis performing on the show.

First up were Alex and JLS - winner and runners-up in 2008 - to sing a medley of their recent hit singles.

Starting off with Alexandra's Bad Boys and finishing with JLS's second single Everybody In Love, they received a standing ovation from the judges.

Their confident effort was in marked contrast to the nerves they felt just 12 months ago.

Dermot asked them what advice they could offer to the final two, and Alexandra joked "don't cry", referring to her emotional performance with Beyonce last year.

But she added: "It's the best experience of your life. We've had the most fantastic year."

Leona Lewis - winner in 2006 - once again showed off her amazing vocals for a cover of the Oasis hit Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

She was accompanied by a montage of images from the show, and received a big thumbs-up from her former X Factor mentor Simon Cowell at the end.

The show also saw a special performance by George Michael, who had previously joined contestant Joe McElderry in a duet on Saturday night.

The former Wham! star sang his new festive single December Song (I Dreamed Of Christmas), accompanied by a choir.
