Pamela: Billy couldn't do Strictly

20/12/2010 08:42

Strictly Come Dancing star Pamela Stephenson said her husband Billy Connolly had tried to teach her dance moves at home for years but admitted he might not be an ideal candidate for the show.

She said: "I don't know, that could be a serious car crash, couldn't it? Someone could get a Glasgow kiss."

The 61-year-old psychologist admitted it will be hard to go back to work after her time on the dancefloor.

She said: "Because I'm going to have to get up in the morning and put on some sensible shoes and a dark suit and no eyelashes, no fake tan, no sequins. What am I going to do?"

Pamela, who described herself as "chronologically advanced", said she was proud of her performances which have seen the judges give her perfect scores twice.

She said: "I guess I feel quite proud about it because when I was in my 20s, for example, I don't think I could have done any of the things that I'm doing on Strictly.

"I certainly wouldn't have believed that I would have been flipping over a young man's head and holding him in a lift and doing the things we are doing.

"It's perfectly possible to be athletic and enjoy dancing at this age but I suppose I was one of the people who thought that couldn't happen and I'm very glad to be proving it wrong."
