Sophia Gardens joins the ranks of Test grounds this summer having been controversially awarded an Ashes clash.
The ground has undergone wholesale redevelopment with a new pavilion, media centre, grandstand and more covered seating all part of the county's ambitious and successful plan to achieve Test-match status.
It's even suffered a soul-sapping name change: while it remains Sophia Gardens to cricket fans, the suits prefer you to call it the SWALEC Stadium.
Sophia Gardens has already hosted seven ODIs, but only two of them involving England - against Pakistan three years ago and South Africa last year. And on both days rain was the victor.
By far the most famous international played here came in 2005 when a Mohammad Ashraful-inspired Bangladesh humbled Australia by five wickets.
