The car

This year, thanks to Citroen, we'll be competing in a C1 1.4 HDi Rhythm diesel five-door. The C1 range is Citroen's affordable green contender with both petrol and diesel powered versions of this funky C1 supermini range having ultra-low CO2 emissions levels (108g/km C1 petrol models and 109g/km for the diesel).

The C1 is the smallest vehicle offered with HDi diesel power. A special version of the famed 1.4HDi engine has been developed for the C1. Only available in five door, Rhythm form this version of the C1 combines a 96mph top speed potential and high-torque in-gear acceleration, with incredible fuel consumption figures (53.3mpg urban/83.1mpg extra urban/68.9mpg combined) and a 109g/100km emissions rating.

The winning car for the last two years has been the Toyota version of this car, the Aygo. So it will be interesting to see how we do. No pressure then...
