Mikey evicted

Mikey has been voted the runner-up of the 2009 series of Big Brother.

The 33-year-old was thrilled on Tuesday after surviving a surprise double eviction and making it to Friday's series finale.

The Scot managed to escape eviction throughout the entire summer, making him the only remaining housemate not to face the public vote.

Mikey, from Ayrshire, insists he has had the summer of a lifetime, and fulfilled a long-time dream by entering the Big Brother house.

He lost his sight when he was 23, but his handicap hasn't kept him from taking part in several tasks, particularly the ones that involved eating.

He earned a week in heaven after finishing in the top four in the chilli-eating task, and even attempted to eat 300 sprouts in a bid to earn the right to nominate.

His sprouts challenge was less than successful, however, and he ended up pouring the half-chewed remains over his head in defeat.

In week ten, he became the Head of House after Rachel declared his team had won a baking task in which he had to recreate London's Millennium Dome as a cake.

The cross-dressing comedian entered the house with a shaggy head of hair, but will be leaving the house newly shorn - and missing his eyebrows. (PAW/WN/CL)
