Feisty Sylvia has had to battle with a lot more than a jeering crowd in her life - so the boos coming from the crowd as she entered the house should have gone straight over her head.
The 21-year-old sales assistant lives in south London but was originally from Sierra Leone and came to the UK with her family aged 11, when the war started in her homeland.
Describing herself as ambitious but soft on the inside, she is claims she is equally at home in church or at a shopping mall.
Sylvia says religion plays a very important part in her life and she believes in God, goes to church every Sunday and prays before she goes to bed every night.
She is currently studying English Literature and Psychology at Derby University, but would ideally like to pursue a career as a singer and says she has a good voice.
Sylvia gives herself five out of 10 for intelligence and eight out of 10 for looks, but says the only thing she doesn?t like about herself are her wrists as they are too skinny.
Luckily for her she says she is very sociable but she gets angered by "unclean individuals, aggressive people and negativity" - something she may have to put up with in the Big Brother house!
