Big Brother 9 - Dale

Housemate: Dale
Single ladies beware - house hunk Dale has finally escaped the chains of Big Brother and is coming to get you.

But wannabe girlfriends beware, former housemate Jen will no doubt put up a fight for him.

Dale told Jen from Day One that he liked her - and the couple indulged in an on/off affair.

The couple spent a lot of time together in the early days, frolicking in the pool and having late night chats on the sofa.

But hunky newcomer Stu burst Dale's bubble when he replaced axed housemate Alex. Jen told Dale Stu had all the qualities she looks for in a man. And that was the start of Big Brother's love triangle.

She began playing the two up against each other - spending days with Stu bitching about Dale and nights cosying up to the 21-year-old in the bedroom.

But Dale was still smitten by the Geordie single mum when she lost out in a head-to-head battle with Rex in Week Four.

And Dale was not afraid to cry at her departure - and was even spotted staring at photos of his lost love.

In memory of their good times, Dale went on to form the Heartbreak Club with fellow love losers Lisa and Luke. But that was shattered when Luke was ejected from the house in Week 8 and Rex's girlfriend Nicole replaced him.

It was a tough week for Dale as he watched the lovebirds kiss over the Heaven and Hell barrier - and even motioned slitting his wrists to the cameras.

Poor Dale was even the target of house bunny boiler Sylvia in the early days. She asked pal Jen's permission to make a move on Dale and told her she fancied Dale, saying she thought he looked "hot" during the treadmill task. But he told his fellow housemates: "I have to ignore it.

The whole nation knows I like Jen."

But Dale was still exposed as a bit of womaniser when his profile VT was shown to Rex, Stu, Mikey and Mo as a reward for living in heaven.

The boys gasped as they listened to Dale boast about how he would "nail" the fit women in the house and backstab other contestants for the £100,000 cash prize.

"What a k**b!" Mikey cried.

Dale later went out of his way to get the house to dislike him - because he wanted to be put up for nomination in a bid to see if he was liked by the public.

He rowed with Mohamed over Bex's toothpaste and argued with Darnell when he was crowned Head of House.

And his wish to face the public came true when he was put up for eviction against best pal Luke in week eight - the first week he ever received a nomination from his fellow housemates.

But he did have some fun times in the house - particularly when he was given the Head of House crown in week seven after lasting more than eight hours hanging on a tyre in the garden while wearing a gorilla suit.

Dale was then made in charge of the Time Task - which the housemates eventually passed. He also glugged wine during the French task. Dale and Mohamed had to learn to identify fifteen wines by just their smell and taste alone and were given an hour to sip the wines and prepare their palettes to tell the difference. But despite their efforts, they failed.

He was also partly responsible for failing the Irish dance task after he was chosen as choreographer.

Dale will be missed by eviction rival Stu - but we will be missing him from our screens even more.
