'Mummy' Carole kicked off CBB 'Mummy' Carole kicked off CBB

Outspoken tabloid hack and 'mummy' of the Celebrity Big Brother House, Carole Malone, was given her marching orders tonight.

The opinionated Sunday Mirror columnist became the second contestant to be booted off the show after failing to win over viewers - and her housemates.

Carole was chosen by the other celebs after both she and Cleo broke the rules by discussing nominations.

But the public also turned on Carole after Leo escaped from the house earlier today.

She looked shocked when Davina announced her name but said: "I'm ready to go".

Later she put the decision down to "keeping a balance" - "all the men have jumped ship," she explained.

She hugged her fellow contestants to a chorus of "love you" - unfortunately once she was outside, the crowd wasn't quite so welcoming and she was met with a wave of boos.

The 47-year-old Londoner told Davina: "I'm not shocked I'm sitting here - there are so many huge characters in that house."

And she said there were no hard feelings about Leo's exit, despite the fact that he probably would have been evicted if he hadn't escaped.

"It's fine," she commented. "It has been really emotional in that house - there are some amazing people in there but it's a game."

Speaking about her housemates, she admitted that she was wrong about Jade, having previously branded her as "stupid" in her column.

"I liked her a lot. She is a really sweet, considerate girl. It's made me think about what I say about other people. She has made a fantastic career and the public adore her - and now I know why."

And she tipped her 'daughter' figure Danielle Lloyd to win the show.

She gushed: "The girl is a diamond; I think she's going to win and she has a huge career ahead of her."

However in true tabloid style, it seemed Carole was keeping the best bits for her next column.

When Davina asked if she was saving herself for Sunday's paper, she admitted: "I could do that, I might do that" - despite "feeling doggishly loyal to some of them".

Newcastle-born Carole kept up her journalist act in the house, giving the other inmates her expert analysis on situations like Jade's entrance.

But she may have changed her mind about WAGs after making friends with Teddy Sheringham's girl - during the Manor task, head butler Carole mothered peasant Danielle telling her the footballer would be "proud".

She seemed to get on well with most people in the house, but instigated the bitching about Leo, moaning that he only cared about himself.

Often acting as spokeswoman for Big Brother, Carole also kept the others' behaviour and egos in check, including telling randy and annoying Leo to "shut up".

But she became a confidante and friend to Cleo, who cried over her relationship with Kenny Everett.

When the others picked her over Cleo for eviction, she didn't turn on the housemates, but instead moaned about Big Bro's cruelty.

"I think I am going to go. I'm not worried about it. I'm worried about the game they are playing.

"They want to keep certain people. Shilpa, you are one of them. It's very divisive," she said.

Carole, who has been married to her Bosnian husband for 14 years, grew up in a small mining village near Newcastle and fell out with her parents over her ambition to become a journalist.

Before entering the house, the blonde admitted it was every journalist's dream to take part in Big Brother.

It remains to be seen whether she'll dish the dirt on the other celebs in her column - but she'll certainly have plenty to write about.
