Jermaine is CBB runner-up Jermaine is CBB runner-up

28/01/2007

Michael Jackson's big brother Jermaine moonwalked out of the CBB house as runner-up to winner Shilpa Shetty.

The duo looked happy as the results were announced and hugged each other warmly.

Softly-spoken Jermaine left the house to a chorus of cheers and gave a thumbs up to his army of fans who were chanting Jackson 5 songs.

He told Davina: "I'm very happy."

He started his post-eviction interview by admitting that he hadn't been sure what he was letting himself in for.

"It was the most different thing I have ever done. Nothing like anything I have ever ever experienced. It was something to wake up and know you are being watched," he said.

Talking about his future plans, he revealed: "I'm busy mounting a musical on my family at the moment - here."

The shades-clad singer was the first person to enter the house, slightly before a nervous Danielle Lloyd, who he didn't introduce himself to.

When hearing her only talent was being a model, he quickly asked: "Do you cook?"

Jermaine played it cool throughout his time in the house, but was a fair and compassionate housemate, often providing a shoulder to cry on.

Over the weeks, he won the housemates' hearts and their respect with his tales of his music career, his famous family - and owning a tiger.

He was a good sport during the Battle of the Bands task, leading his Jackson 5 tribute band to victory in Afros and 70s gear.

When the housemates were divided into servants and masters for the Manor task, Jermaine discreetly opted to stay in the main house, becoming an honorary member of the Goody family.

He comforted Shilpa when she cried after choosing not to become a servant.

Like everyone else, Jermaine failed to enjoy Jackiey's continuous banter and her uncontrollable bodily functions.

"This flatulation is killing me. I can't deal with this passing of the gas," he told best mate Dirk.

While Danielle admitted she couldn't talk to Jermaine, he openly discussed his family with his unusual confidante Jade.

"The word is ugly, certain people are very sad," he said of brother Michael's ordeal last year.

He admired Ms Goody, telling her he was "very impressed" with the way she had handled ex-housemate Ken and saying there were "no limits" to her career.

When Jade's mum Jackiey was evicted, Jermaine was the first to comfort her, wrapping her up in a huge bear hug and saying: "It should have been me."

But when Jade upset Shilpa with her constant bullying, he comforted the Bollywood star although he admitted to Cleo he didn't think Jade was racist.

"I'm pretty sure she doesn't have a racist bone in her body," he said.

Jermaine - the co-lead singer of the Jackson 5, who went on to have a successful solo career with hits including Let's Get Serious - converted to Islam in the 1980s.

His laid-back approach to life might have come from his religious zeal - he now lives in Dubai with his third wife and changed his name to Muhammad Abdul Aziz.

His carefully chosen words won him many female fans in the house.

"I could just eat him, I love him!" admitted Jo.

And so did it seems did the British public...
