Cleo sent packing in CBB surprise Cleo sent packing in CBB surprise

26/01/2007

Feisty actress Cleo Rocos tonight became the fifth star to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house, with 27.9% of the vote.

To the surprise of the housemates, the early favourite to win left in a double eviction alongside former S Club singer Jo O'Meara, who was voted for by 48.4%.

The glamorous 44-year-old took the news in her stride and calmly hugged each of her fellow contestants before leaving to a mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd.

Cleo said she was relieved to be escaping the house.

"There are guys in there so deserving to win. I had a great time," she said. "For the whole three weeks my stomach has been like a washing machine."

When Davina asked her about the Shilpa and Jade row, the flame-haired star admitted she didn't step in because she felt "she couldn't make it better".

"It wasn't that easy," she explained. "At that point things had become quite high volume. I wanted to say something but I felt if I said something it would have made it worse. It needed a man to be there.

"It was something small which became out of control. Weird things happened in that house."

She commented that she felt Danielle and Jack had been "the most real".

On the subject of who should win, she gushed: "Jermaine is king. If someone has to win with honour and respect it should be Jermaine. Without him I wouldn't be here now. He's a wonderful man."

Cleo had been the early favourite to win the latest series of the reality TV show after her motherly antics and positive personality won over housemates and viewers alike.

But sadly her baiting of Dirk made viewers see red and they voted her out of the house.

Best known for starring as Kenny Everett's sidekick in his 80s TV shows, Cleo became the house mum on her first night in the house when she dried Donny's clothes after his dip in the spa.

The rebellious rocker thanked her with a kiss which narrowly missed her lips.

Donny wasn't the only one who warmed to Cleo - Jade's mum Jackiey gave her a ring to remember her by.

In the Manor task she was appointed cook by head butler Carole - a role she fulfilled with aplomb helped by assistant Jo.

Ever the optimist, she took Leo in hand during his rebellious phase, telling him: "You can't give up, a big hairy guy like you."

She comforted Shilpa after Jade shouted at her and she told the other housemates to look after Jack when Jade got booted out for her bullying.

Cleo wasn't afraid to show her more sensitive side and cried several times over her relationship with the late Kenny Everett.

But it was her love of a good gossip which landed her in trouble with BB when she was caught discussing nominations with Carole.

She played it safe through all the tasks, but caused tension in the house when she sided with Jo and Danielle against moody Dirk.

Cleo's attempt to make Dirk laugh backfired, when she dressed up provocatively as Tiara and flirted wildly with him. She refused to take no for an answer, sending Dirk into a foul mood which saw him ignore her for the rest of the day.

"He's an old man under the illusion he's still attractive. He thinks we all fancy him," she fumed.

But the pair made up when Dirk relaxed after winning the A-Team task and even entertained the girls with a striptease!

With her new army of fans both in and outside the house, Cleo is bound to come out a winner in the end.
