Big Brother hopes a phone call from the Australian house might cheer up the housemates following another night of bickering.

The housemates spent the day recovering from the aftermath of Charley and Brian's row.

But Big Brother hopes to give the gloomy housemates a ray of light from the other side of the world.

As the fish phone rang throughout the house, the first housemate to reach the phone were given five minutes to discuss anything they wish with their antipodean friends.

And the quickest housemate to the phone was Liam.

"Hello?" said Liam.

"You're being connected to the Australian Big Brother House for five minutes," said Big Brother.

"Excellent," said Liam, before launching into quiz fest with his Aussie counterpart.

"You've got a telephone next to the hot tub?" he asked.

"We had an actor who played an Australian and we had an Australia theme night.

We were eating camels' testicles and kangaroos." Liam then handed the phone to Aussie Big Bro fan Brian - but after one Australian hoax he wasn't ready to fall for another.

"You're such a liar," said Brian.

"Hello who's this? Hello mate.

It's Brian? It started off just girls and they dripped the boys in." And it wasn't long before Brian's Aussie fave Aleisha was on the phone.

"I'm Bri-boy.

Look me up on the internet!" he said excitedly.

"I hope you win!" Charley and Carole also had a chat with the Aussie gang before the twins grabbed the phone: "Are you loving it?" asked Amanda.

"I bet you don't want to leave? Are you a hottie? Oh," they gasped.

And then the line went dead....
