Emily booted out of Big Brother for racial abuse
Emily Parr has been removed from the house for using a racially offensive word to a fellow housemate Charley.
Contestant Emily was removed from the house in the early hours of this morning for using the word 'n**ger'.
The student actress was dancing with Charley and Nicky in the living room when she was heard to say "Are you pushing it out you n**ger?" to Charley.
Endemol producers met with senior executives at Channel 4 and took the decision to remove the 19-year-old from the house on the grounds she had broken the rules governing contestant behaviour.
She was called to the Diary Room at approximately 3.30am to be informed of the decision and was removed from the house immediately, without further contact with other contestants.
The remaining housemates were informed of Big Brother's decision at 9.30am this morning.
Angela Jain, who heads the Big Brother commissioning team at Channel 4, said: "I think people watching the show tonight will agree that Emily spoke carelessly rather than maliciously - certainly Charley and Nicky, the two housemates most directly involved in the conversation with her, seem to accept that she did.
She understands why her involvement in Big Brother has had to come an end and she very much regrets what she said.
"In the wake of Celebrity Big Brother we must consider the potential offence to viewers regardless of Emily's intentions and her housemates' response.
The word n**ger is clearly racially offensive and there was no justification for its use.
We have removed Emily from the house to once again make it clear to all housemates and the viewers at home that such behaviour won't be tolerated."
Earlier this year Celebrity Big Brother came under fire from viewers and TV watchdogs after Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty was racially bullied by three of her housemates.
The ensuing row forced programme makers to issue an apology at the start of this series last week.
Emily and rival Shabnam faced the public vote on Friday after hunky housemate Ziggy put them up for nomination.
A Channel 4 spokesman says the eviction vote has been suspended.
Ziggy chose Emily for the chop because he thought she was "bitchy" and nasty to Posh Spice look-a-like Chanelle.
And the nomination came as a blow to the student actress who admitted before she entered the house that she "doesn't do losing".
After hearing she would face the public vote she told Shabnam, "I'm not going to say I hope it's me.
I really don't.
Week one, you know, it's not ideal.
I feel I have so much more to give."
Before enterting the house, the blonde stunner, from Bristol, had given strict intructions not to have sex in the house.
Emily's mother Mandy Parr says, "I told Emily she's forbidden from taking her top off.
She's not built to be a glamour model and she's a talented actress so that's not what she wants to be known for.
I've told her if there are boys she likes in the house she's not to do anything with them."
But there was no danger of Emily getting in-between the sheets with sole male housemate Ziggy - the pair argued like cat and dog.
The pair first clashed in a heated row over hair straighteners.
Emily and Chanelle were arguing over who should have priority of the heated appliance and Ziggy stepped in to calm the pair down.
But the row resulted in Emily storming from the room, sobbing.
Round two came when the pair clashed over fellow housemate Chanelle.
Ziggy confronted Emily, accusing her of being bitchy after she claimed Chanelle slept next to the house hunk as part of her game plan.
"I phrased it wrong," Emily explained.
"I thought she was doing it deliberately.
Why are you even getting involved if this in an issue between someone else?" she screamed before running off to the bedroom for another cry.
But it was not all doom and gloom for young Emily, who says she learned how to read at the age of two.
Emily, who made her film debut as a dancer in the 2004 movie Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights and also had a bit-part in Casualty, showed off her acting talents during the inaugural Big Brother breakdancing championships and talent contest Stars in Their Eyes.
