YEAH YEAH YEAHS
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have carved themselves a considerable slice of the post-punk New York pie since forming in 2001. It probably helps that in front woman Karen O they have a singer whose ripped neon leotards, interpretive dances and cathartic howls are never less than compelling. Formed in Brooklyn when Karen O and guitarist Nick Zinner recruited drummer Brian Chase, the band quickly formed a reputation for raucous live shows. Their excellent 2003 debut Fever To Tell contained enough dark romance and jittering sexual energy to set them apart from the indie pack. 2006's follow up Show Your Bones, saw the band maturing into a less raucous but just as intense outfit, with recent Top 20 UK hit Gold Lion a testament to their newly acquired, grandiose soundscapes.
