With their amps turned up to '11' and a love of all things Spinal Tap-ish, Sydney trio Wolfmother are the missing link between Zep and The White Stripes. Fronted by singer Andrew Stockdale, (You'll recognise him by the gravity-defying afro), the trio produce compellingly neanderthal slabs of heavy rock. Their recently released, eponymous debut album saw our Aussie friends partying like it's 1972 on a series of retro-loving rock wig-outs with pleasingly 'prog' titles such as Mind's Eye and Tales From The Forest Of Gnomes. At the very least, their sense of humour should save them from Reef-style ignominy.
