Las Vegas quartet Panic At The Disco emerged in 2005 from internet site myspace.com having created a word of mouth buzz the Arctic Monkeys would be proud of. The group formed when friends Spencer Smith (drums) and Ryan Ross (guitar) grew tired of covering Blink 182 tunes and recruited classmates Brendon Urie (guitar/vocals) and Brent Wilson (bass). Leftfield pop songs with theatrical flourishes, perceptive lyrics and techno interludes quickly followed as the band posted some demos online. They were soon snapped up by US label Decaydance, an imprint label headed by Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. Their debut album, Fever You Can't Sweat Out, released in Feb 2006, offered a mix of the futuristic and nostalgic, melding influences as diverse as grunge, pop and the theatrical bits of Queen.
