MASTODON
Atlanta quartet Mastodon play an innovative mix of metal and hardcore that puts
them right at home on their record label Relapse, home to acts like Today Is The
Day and Coalesce. In fact the group's lineup includes two former members of Today
Is The Day, guitarist Bill Kelliher and drummer Brann Dailor. The lineup is
completed by bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders and guitarist Brent Hinds. Their
debut EP, Lifesblood, was released in 2001. Debut album Remission was released
the following year and after touring for much of 2003, a follow up, Leviathan,
was released in 2004. In 2006 the band rounded up their early work for a
compilation album, Call Of The Mastodon.
