Signed in a media frenzy at the end of 2005, The Guillemots have already justified the hype with their debut album, Through The Windowpane nominated for the 2006 Mercury Music Prize. The band's line-up approaches a United Nations delegation with English singer and classically trained pianist Fyfe Dangerfield, Brazilian guitarist MC Lord Magrao, Scottish percussionist Rican Caol, and Canadian double bassist Aristazabal Hawkes. Unsurprisingly the band's sound is suitably eclectic, ranging from guitar rock to folk, and jazz-based weirdness - in short, it surpasses comparisons with anything around at the moment...
