The Sex Pistols may never have played with an Irish flute and a mandolin, but Flogging Molly, led by Dublin born singer/guitarist Dave King, meld traditional Irish influences with merciless punk-fuelled guitar riffs, taking their influences from the Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers, The Pogues and The Clash. King, a veteran of various 80s rock bands including Fastway with Motorhead guitarist Eddie Clarke, rebelled against his traditional musical upbringing to form the band. Stalwarts of the last five Warped tours, the band have honed their sound over three albums, 2000's Swagger, 2002's Drunken Lullabies and recent album, Within A Mile Of Home, which takes them full circle, drawing on traditional Irish influences with fiddles and flutes aplenty. Ah, you can take the boy out of Ireland...
