In 2005 Pete Wentz, bassist and lyricist with Chicago pop-punks Fall Out Boy locked himself in his car, swallowed a handful of pills and waited for oblivion. These days, Wentz has less cause for despair with their recent album, From Under The Cork Tree approaching 2.5m in worldwide sales. Wentz grew up with guitarist Joe Trohman and soon recruited lead vocalist Patrick Stump and drummer Andy Hurley. The band had no aspirations other than to play in local clubs but revised their plans when their debut album, Take This To Your Grave, released on fledgling label Fueled by Ramen, sold over 200,000 copies.
