EAGLES OF DEATH METAL
Even rawer and sleazier than the sounds from his day job as front man of Queens Of The Stone Age, Josh Homme's side project, Eagles Of Death Metal, encapsulates the baser elements of garage rock. Homme, who takes up drumming duties instead of his usual guitar post, started the band in California with childhood friend, vocalist/guitarist Jessie Hughes. The Eagles' debut album, Peace, Love & Death was released in 2004, issued on Homme's own Rekords Rekords label. The album and subsequent tour was received well enough for Homme to reconvene in 2005, together with actor Jack Black, The Distillers' vocalist Brody Dalle, ex-Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan and Queen Of The Stone Age's Joey Castillo to record recent album, Death By Sexy in eight days. We told you they mean business..
