BODY COUNT Featuring ICE-T
BODY COUNT Featuring ICE-T
Arguably the very first rapcore act, Body Count, featuring Ice-T, became infamous in 1992 with their single Cop Killer. The single's controversy would see Ice-T up against then feeble Vice President Dan Quayle who was
defending "family values." Body Count's graphic documentation of 'gangsta' life in South Central LA, through a series of albums including their eponymous 1992 debut, 1994's Born Dead and 1997's Violent Demise: The Last Days, would prick the American moral majority, from police groups to parent lobbies. But with the deaths of band members, drummer Beatmaster V (leukemia), r bassist Mooseman (drive-by shooting), and guitarist D Roc (lymphoma), only Ice T and Ernie C remain. The announcement of a new album in 2006, Murder For Hire: Will Kill For Money was greeted with as much enthusiasm as news of their Reading/Leeds appearance.
