Task success ends BB food nightmare

The Big Brother housemates' shopping budget hell is over after they got down and dirty to pass the Unfair Funfair Task.

They were set the daunting challenge of climbing and crawling through a gunge-laden assault course against the clock.

Each of them began with the the Stairway To Hell, a slide down the eviction stairs into a pit of compost and stink bombs.

Pausing to grab a fairground teddy bear hidden in the mire, they were spun around in The Big Waltzer.

Next was the six-foot Bloody Beam which housemates had to negotiate with a pit of red gunge waiting below. Then they climbed the monkey bars of the Rogue's Gallery while being sprayed with a vomit-like substance.

From there contestants crawled through The Tunnel of Love which consisted of a wobbly bed of syrup and a mountain of confetti and pillow feathers. Finally, to complete the course they had to ring a bell using a mallet provided.

They had 22 minutes to duck and dive around the course, with 15-second penalties for each obstacle they failed to negotiate. However, even with penalties they romped home with an impressive time of 18 minutes and 13 seconds.

As well as securing next week's luxury food budget of £4 each per day, they were treated to a 80s party with mullets and jump-suits all round.

Jayne was given a rainbow eyesore of an outfit, with a luminous fluffy green jacket, yellow top, multi-coloured ra-ra skirt and bright green leg warmers. Hot stuff.

"You look like Miami Sound Machine has exploded all over you!" Richard burst out laughing when he saw Jayne. "I thought I looked like Rizzo from Grease," Jayne giggled.
