Pete's rock 'n' roll lifestylePete probably appreciates a spot of kindly advice about his rock band - but is Richard taking it a little far?
As the two housemates chatted about Pete's musical ambitions over a nice cup of tea, it seemed Richard was convinced the 24-year-old was set to be the next Madonna.
It all started when young Pete, who fronts psychedelic band Daddy Fantastic in Brighton, wondered what would happen to the band when he finally left the house.
"It'll be amazing for you, performing live music," said Richard.
Looking excited, Pete said: "I wanna do it to a big audience. It's all about having fun."
But Canadian Richard started letting his imagination run away with him after hearing that Pete writes the tunes he plays.
"You'll make money off the royalties," he said enthusiastically. "Your future is set. Madonna makes money every day by banking her royalties."
As Pete looked on incredulously, Richard added: "You'll have to build up a profile for yourself in the UK, and then probably Europe."
After a long silence, Pete said: "I don't wanna be that big! I just wanna, you know, show some people some stuff. I don't wanna be like Madonna, no way."
But Richard just couldn't let it go.
"You'll probably get out and find there's loads of record labels at your door."
"Nah," said a wide-eyed Pete.
"You never know..." added Richard.
